Religion of the River
by:Austin Manthey

Fly-fishing is like a religion
Trout reach deep inside an anglers soul; warming the heart
Time is set aside for simple glances at beauty
Thoughts of feisty fish flipping in the net become prayers
Men and Women seek passion of the river to guide them to solitude
Troutbums rejoice worldwide under law of rod and reel
Memories of trips past become bibles, full of keys to life

The water is a heaven, full of angels
Flies, the pure path as bait is sin
Passion becomes addiction
Patterns and Colors dance to rhythm of fight
Life and Death divided by simple blue lines
Anglers believe the catch is the way
Fly-fishing is a religion.
